Custom Kitchen Design at the Lake

Designing a kitchen from scratch is one of the most rewarding parts of any project—especially when it’s fully custom. In this lake house, the kitchen is not only a hub for cooking, but also a gathering place for family and friends.

At the center of the design is an oversized 11-foot island, crafted to allow seating on two sides—perfect for entertaining guests or enjoying casual meals with family. The cabinetry will be fully custom-built, offering the client a chance to make the most of every inch of storage while maintaining a seamless, clean aesthetic.

We’re leaning toward a warm, natural stain for the cabinetry to ground the space with an organic, lake-friendly vibe. I'll likely choose a color for the island and keep stain on the wall cabinetry. For the countertops, I’ll be sourcing granite with subtle movement, something timeless that can hold its own against the wood tones and natural light.

No kitchen is complete without the finishing touches: we’ll select fun, eye-catching pendants to hang above the island, and bar stools that are as comfortable as they are stylish. I’m aiming for pieces that reflect the relaxed elegance of lakeside living while keeping the space functional and welcoming.
