Transforming a Primary Bedroom with a Dimplex Revillusion® Electric Fireplace: A Designer’s Journey

As an interior designer, few things are more exciting than a design project that allows for both aesthetic and functional upgrades. When a client approaches me with the idea of adding a feature that brings warmth, ambiance, and style to their primary bedroom, I immediately begin to envision how it will transform the space. For this particular project, we’re incorporating a stunning electric fireplace into the room's design, and it’s truly a game-changer.

The centerpiece of our design will be the Dimplex Revillusion® 30 Inch Built-in Electric Firebox, which boasts a more traditional firebox appearance with a herringbone brick background. It’s a piece that combines a realistic flame effect with the convenience and safety of an electric firebox. The flames themselves look so lifelike that it almost feels like the real thing, making it the perfect feature to add both warmth and a touch of sophistication to the bedroom.

The Rough Framing Is Complete — What’s Next?

At this point in the project, we’ve successfully installed the rough framing for the electric fireplace, and the firebox is securely in place. I can already see how this piece is going to elevate the overall vibe of the room, but now comes the fun part — deciding how to finish the space around the firebox to create a harmonious, aesthetically pleasing design.

When I approach a project like this, I always keep the bigger picture in mind: How will the fireplace complement the existing design elements in the room? What materials can I use to make this fireplace feel like a true architectural feature, without overwhelming the space?
